Change occurs when we form a new gentle language with ourselves.

About this practice

With so many beautiful moments to capture, why is there this tendency to swim a river of negativity?  Do you ever stop and notice what it is that you attend to?  These are the things that are filling your life.

I believe that small moments are actually opportunities to develop more peaceful encounters with ourselves.  Fortunately, we can recreate the way we speak to ourselves and begin again.  A collection of several small moments gathered over time can create a positive, cumulative effect that can gently transform our lives.

In my fourteen years of psychotherapy practice I have worked with children, adolescents, and adults from diverse backgrounds. I have addressed a variety of concerns including trauma, depression, anxiety, life transitions, and learning differences. My expertise is in trauma work. I have training and invested interest in Mindfulness and Psychodynamic technique.

I have two graduate degrees in mental health; Master’s in Art Therapy and Creativity Development (Pratt Institute, 2007); Master’s in Social Work Clinical Practice with Individuals, Families, and Groups  (Hunter College, 2018).My practice is unique in that clients are offered traditional talk therapy, as well as highly individualized creative arts therapy technique. We create a plan to put these tools introduced into action outside of the session. My practice is both trauma-informed and racial justice informed.
